Who Is Amanda Knox?
Amanda Knox first gained worldwide attention in 2007 when she was accused of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, while studying abroad in Italy. Knox, then just 20 years old, endured two wrongful convictions before being acquitted in 2015 by Italy’s highest court. Despite her eventual exoneration, the media frenzy left her battling public perception. Today, Knox is 38, a mother of two, and continues to speak openly about her experience through her podcast and advocacy work.
The New Amanda Knox Documentary-Style Series
The new series dramatizes her 16-year journey to clear her name. Grace Van Patten says the series is more than a retelling — it’s a chance to “reclaim Amanda’s story” and reveal facts the public hasn’t seen before. “I thought I knew a good amount, and it wasn’t even close to the twists and turns that happened,” Van Patten tells PEOPLE.
