The Thursday Murder Club Trailer Unveils Netflix’s Star-Studded Whodunit

Netflix is wrapping up summer with a charming British mystery that promises laughs, intrigue, and a dash of danger. The Thursday Murder Club premieres August 28 and features an all-star cast including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie.

The Thursday Murder Club Adaptation: Everything You Need to Know

Based on Richard Osman’s bestselling 2020 novel, the film follows a quirky group of retirees who spend their golden years cracking unsolved crimes. But when a murder happens close to home, their amateur sleuthing turns serious.

Mirren stars as Elizabeth, joined by Brosnan as Ron, Kingsley as Ibrahim, and Imrie as Joyce—four spirited seniors who form the Thursday Murder Club. Together, they dive headfirst into a real-life whodunit, blending wit, wisdom, and old-school detective flair.

Directed by Home Alone and Harry Potter filmmaker Chris Columbus, the adaptation boasts a screenplay by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote. The supporting cast is just as stacked, with appearances from Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, and Richard E. Grant.

Produced by Netflix in partnership with Amblin Entertainment, The Thursday Murder Club could be the start of a franchise. The original novel is the first in a growing series, so if this film strikes the right chord, more mystery may be on the way.
