Marvel Television is set to bring a fresh hero to Disney+ with the upcoming series Wonder Man starring Emmy Award-winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Simon Williams, a struggling actor, suddenly discovers he has incredible superpowers, forcing him to navigate the delicate balance between Hollywood fame and extraordinary responsibility. The series explores both the glamour and challenges of life in the spotlight, while introducing Marvel fans to a character they’ve long anticipated.

The official trailer gives audiences a first glimpse of Simon’s journey. After a chance encounter with veteran actor Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), Simon gets an opportunity to work with legendary director Von Kovak (Zlatko Buri) on a remake of the superhero film “Wonder Man.” Kingsley’s character offers a poignant reflection on acting, saying, “Acting is the sum of everything you’ve ever experienced. The joy. Sadness. Loss. Heartbreak.” Meanwhile, the Department of Damage Control views Simon as a serious threat, adding tension to his path as a reluctant superhero. Watch the trailer below.
Fans can look forward to all eight Wonder Man episodes streaming January 27 at 6 p.m./5 c.m. on Disney+, along with an original soundtrack by composer Joel P West, available January 30 through Hollywood Records.
